11 on 11???? June 2010

Take a photo once an hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month. Document a snapshot of your life and find beauty among the ordinary things of your day.

So I'm a total loser and completely forgot to bring my camera with me yesterday!!!! So instead of missing out on this awesome day I look forward to every month, I decided to do 11 on 11!!!!!! Enjoy

It was Gracie's last day of Preschool. Since she will be moving schools starting next week, I took a few pictures with her and her teacher's and friends. That little girl in the picture's name is Michelle!!!! I love that her good friend at school has my name, so cute!

Cool Dude!!!!

For some reason, I think it's the angle in which the shot is taken, Ryder always has this odd pictures! (Could it be because he's constantly trying to grab the camera every time I bring it out?) Anyway, they totally creep me out and I just thought I would share!

So my friend Becca has been quite the entrepreneur lately and has started several businesses. One of them is cookie decorating and here is a shot of one of the cookies she made for Ryder's birthday (they will be the favors) for tomorrow! They turned out great, if you would like to get some adorable essentials for new Mommies or some great cookies for any occasion, please visit her Etsy site here.

Here is how I packaged the cookies for the "treat" bags, too cute!

I had to give the Birthday Boy an adorable haircut before his big day!!!!

So my great friend Diane (I'll get you back for this one Di) suggested I enter something in the fair so I could get some free passes! Great idea!!! Well, here are the 3 pieces I entered which got picked to be judged at the fair!!! Normally I would be super stoked for that however, you have to frame them to be displayed at the fair!!!! Now $120 into it, I should have just bought the dang fair tickets!!!! But, if I win a cash prize, it could be all worth it!!!!

Here are the cupcakes I made for the party tomorrow, this one's Ryder's!!!

I know, I know, please someone give me the Mom of the Year award now!!!! I have been meaning but never took Gracie to the Dentist! Putting it off, putting it off, dreading it really!!! Well, today I bit the bullet and wouldn't you know forgot the camera!!! She did great, well not at first, but then she did GREAT and as a reward got a zhu zhu pet (oy vey)!!!!! Here's her shiny white's!!!!

Just some of the 10lbs. of chicken I cooked for the party tomorrow. I also made 50 cupcakes, and 10 lbs. of tri-tip!

The Birthday Boy got a present early from a mystery person ( I think my neighbor). He had to wait to open it til' tomorrow but he sure had fun playing on it!!!

Ryder's 1st Birthday

I cannot believe that it has nearly been one year since my little peanut entered this world! Not the prettiest birth ever, but beautiful to me! He wasn't the handsomest of fellas but he quickly stole the hearts of not only Mom and Dad, but Sister Gracie fell in deep! She has been the most awesomest ( I know it's not a word) Sissy a little man could ask for! She is helpful, kind, patient, loving and many more things that a little brother should be more than thankful for. I am so happy that their bond has turned out to be as so, and I couldn't imagine it any different. Hopefully as they grow, I can nurture that relationship and let it thrive!

When Gracie turned 1 I was very emotional and sad! I couldn't believe that my first born was making that bend between "baby" and toddler hood!!!! I remember grabbing her blankie to put in the wash and I just teared up! What a sap!!! I thought for sure with Ryder it would feel the same. However, not so much. While I'm yes, sad that he is turning into a toddling, energy filled, Boy, I don't feel the same sadness and emotion I felt with her. I think it quite possibly could be that he is a lot smaller thus staying more babyish than she. Could it be he's a boy and I want to see him grow into a fine young man where as I wish Gracie could be my baby girl forever? Who knows. But, I like it! I don't want to be sad for what was! I want to be happy, which I am. Happy that my little man is becoming himself. Happy that he is sleeping!!!! Happy that he is eating!!!!! (For questions on that see the post here) Happy that my family is for now complete and all we have is the world!!!! (Don't get too excited, no more babies, I just hate to say never, it's like bad Karma or something)!
Anyway, we are having the biggest 1st birthday ever seen here in Dublin on Sat. and I am so excited to be celebrating this little boy's life who has been such a blessing in mine. Love you Boy!
